As England Cricket Test captain, Andrew was one of only three England captains ever to successfully lead England to Ashes victories home and away. He captained the side on 50 occasions and retired from the game as one of England’s most successful captains of all time, taking England to their first Ashes series win in Australia for 24 years. During his career, Andrew was also capped 127 times in the ODI team and because of his skills in cricket whites, Andrew was granted the ‘Freedom of the City of London’.

Andrew established the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which provides support to families who have lost loved ones to cancer. Through this foundation, Andrew is helping to make a positive impact in the lives of those who have been affected by cancer and is honoring the memory of his late wife, Ruth Strauss.
